01 — Technology consulting & engineering
HERJU Consulting GmbH helps organisations decide what to build, then designs and delivers the software, cloud platforms and data flows behind it.
02 — Introduction
We combine advisory work with hands-on engineering. That means the people who recommend an architecture are also able to build it, and the people who build it understand why it was chosen.
Our work covers strategy, custom software, cloud and infrastructure, security, and data automation. Engagements can be short and focused or run across several phases.
03 — Core IT capabilities
01
Roadmaps, technology choices and architecture reviews tied to business priorities.
02
Web applications, APIs and internal tools built for long-term maintainability.
03
Platform design, migration planning, automation and cost awareness.
04
Connecting existing applications through clear interfaces and reliable data exchange.
05
Risk-based assessments, secure design and practical hardening guidance.
06
Pipelines, reporting foundations and automation of repetitive workflows.
04 — IT strategy and consulting
Before recommending tools, we map what the business needs to achieve, which constraints are real, and where existing systems help or hold you back. The output is a written set of options with trade-offs, not a single answer presented as inevitable.
05 — Custom software engineering
We build web applications, APIs, back-office tools and integrations. Each project starts with a thin, working slice that reaches a real environment early, so feedback is based on running software rather than slides.
06 — Cloud and infrastructure
We design and review cloud environments, plan migrations in stages, and express infrastructure as code so it can be reviewed, versioned and rebuilt. Monitoring, backups and access control are treated as part of the platform, not afterthoughts.
Where on-premises or hybrid setups make more sense, we say so.

07 — Cybersecurity approach
We start from the assets that matter most and the realistic ways they could be exposed. Recommendations are ranked by risk reduction and effort, so teams can act on them in order rather than face an undifferentiated list.
08 — Data and automation
We build pipelines that move data between systems with validation at each step, and automate recurring tasks that currently depend on manual copying. Reporting is built on documented, shared definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere.
09 — Delivery methodology
Phase 1
Interviews, system walkthroughs and a shared problem statement.
Phase 2
Scope, success criteria, risks and a first-phase plan in writing.
Phase 3
Iterations of one to two weeks with working increments.
Phase 4
Testing, review and acceptance against agreed criteria.
Phase 5
Documentation, runbooks and knowledge transfer sessions.

11 — Quality and engineering practices
Application code, infrastructure definitions and configuration live in repositories with history.
Builds, tests and deployments run the same way every time.
Small pull requests with context make review meaningful.
Logs, metrics and alerts designed around how the system actually fails.
Short notes explaining why an approach was chosen and what was rejected.
User interfaces checked for keyboard use, contrast and readable structure.
12 — Frequently asked questions
We work with companies that rely on software and infrastructure to run their business and want an outside team to help plan, build or improve those systems. The size of the organisation matters less than having a clear owner on the client side.
Yes. We usually start with a short review of the code, infrastructure and open decisions so we understand the current state before proposing changes or taking on tasks.
No. We recommend technologies based on your context, existing skills and long-term maintenance needs rather than a fixed preference. Where an existing stack is working, we generally build on it.
Ownership terms are agreed in the project contract before work begins. Our working default is that deliverables are handed over in your repositories and accounts so your team retains full access.
With an email describing your situation. From there we arrange a conversation to clarify goals and constraints, then propose a scope, approach and first phase in writing.
Support arrangements can be agreed as part of an engagement. We also prepare handover material so your own team can operate and extend what was built.
